New Southwest Facility Now Open

24-Hour Outpatient Services Available in Southwest Jefferson County

Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest (JHMCSW) opened its doors to patients on August 9. Located at 9700 Stonestreet Road in southwest Jefferson County, the facility provides emergency services, medical imaging and other outpatient and diagnostic services—all 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In the future, the center plans to add a stateof- the-art CT scanner, digital radiographic unit and new ultrasound equipment, thanks to funding from the state of Kentucky. Other future investments include the creation of a new Frazier Rehab outpatient care facility and a new Community Conference Center.

Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is the preferred hospital for patients treated at JHMCSW. In addition to offering a strong group of associated primary care physicians, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital also will extend specialist coverage to the JHMCSW facility.

“We are very excited that the State funding did not have to go toward a ‘brick and mortar’ type project,” said Tom Gessel, president of Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. “Instead, we were able to accelerate capital investment into advanced clinical technology. The residents of this community will greatly benefit from this public-private relationship.”

“This community deserves access to the best health care available,” said Rob Murphy, JHMCSW administrator and director of operations. “We want to continue to invest in the people and services to make this happen.”
