Digital Mammography
Coming to JHMCSW
Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest
(JHMCSW) is pleased to announce the
addition of digital mammography, a new
diagnostic imaging service for residents of
southwest Jefferson County.
Digital mammography offers several advantages over traditional mammograms, including:
- More accurate readings
- Faster results
- Less-invasive testing
The unit used at JHMCSW also features MammoPad® — soft, warm, single-use foam cushions that make mammograms softer and gentler. This is especially beneficial for women with breast sensitivities due to:
- Very small or very large breasts
- Skin prone to tearing and bruising
- Breast cancer
- Hormone replacement therapy
- Recent breast biopsy or surgery
- Breast implants
“JHMCSW is committed to offering the best, most advanced medical technology available to the southwest community,” said Rob Murphy, administrator and director of operations at JHMCSW. “The addition of digital mammography services is simply the next step among many in making this a reality.”
Digital mammography already is offered at other facilities in the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare network, including Jewish Hospital Medical Center East and Medical Center South. JHMCSW’s sister facility, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, will offer digital mammography service at its new Women’s Center.
