New Services at JHMCSW

Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest (JHMCSW) is committed to providing the highest quality health care to the southwest Louisville community. Providing new services and improving the physical plant facility are priorities in 2008.

Additional Diagnostic Capabilities

Along with digital mammography, bone density (DEXA) testing and outpatient infusion services are now offered at JHMCSW. The facility has also received the necessary Certificate of Need from the state of Kentucky to add magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services. MRI service is planned to begin in May 2008.

New outpatient registration and lobby areas have also opened at JHMCSW. These new areas have helped improve patient flow by making it easier for patients to register and access outpatient diagnostic services. The new outpatient registration area is located right off the main entrance into the facility. Emergency department patients will continue to register in the emergency department. “We want to be able to direct patient traffic as efficiently as possible, and the new registration area helps us meet our goal of providing complete patient satisfaction,” said Rob Murphy, administrator and director of operations at JHMCSW.

New Outpatient Rehab Facility

Beginning in April, world-renowned Frazier Rehab Institute (FRI) will open a new outpatient rehab facility at JHMCSW. With this addition, patients in the southwest Louisville community will have the opportunity to receive the best rehabilitation care possible with neighborhood convenience.

“The addition of these new clinical services shows our ongoing commitment to provide the best health care possible to residents of southwest Jefferson County,” said Murphy. “The team members at JHMCSW are excited about the improvements that have already been made at the facility, and we are looking forward to continued growth in 2008.”
