Owsley Brown Frazier continues commitment to rehabilitation

What: Frazier Rehab Institute and the University of Louisville will hold a news conference to announce a $1.5 million gift that will be used to enhance physical medicine and rehabilitation services in this community and region.

Who:   Speakers will include: Owsley Brown Frazier, Chairman of  the Board of Trustees for the University of Louisville; Martin Bonick, President/CEO, Jewish Hospital & Frazier Rehab Institute and Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare Vice President; and Dr. James Ramsey, President, University of Louisville

Where:  The press conference will take place in the lobby of Frazier Rehab Institute located at 220 Abraham Flexner Way

When: Friday, October 9 at 10 a.m.

Why:   To carry on Amelia Brown Frazier’s goal of making sure people didn’t have to travel far to receive the best possible rehabilitation care in the world, Owsley Brown Frazier, chair of the UofL Board of Trustees has provided a gift to enhance rehab medicine.  This gift will allow UofL more opportunities for bringing in a nationally recognized leader in rehabilitation medicine to guide their academic, research and clinical efforts in physical and rehabilitative medicine. Frazier Rehab Institute, a service of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare (JHSMH), is the location where UofL rehabilitation faculty physicians provide care to their patients.

The collaboration between Frazier Rehab Institute and the University of Louisville enables patients to receive some of the most innovative therapies quicker than if they sought care elsewhere. And philanthropic gifts are vital to ensuring the institutions are able to continue to meet this mission by providing the funds to attract high-quality researchers and help with programmatic funding.
