Frazier Rehab Institute Opens New Outpatient Rehab Center in Northeast Jefferson County

Location offers Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies including cancer rehab

(Louisville, KY) Frazier Rehab Institute opened another new outpatient rehab facility today, November 2, in northeastern Jefferson County. The rehab center offers traditional rehab and physical therapy services, as well as treatment of occupational injuries, speech and cancer rehab therapies. Frazier has been taking its services to the communities of Kentucky and southern Indiana for more than 20 years, opening centers in neighborhoods to better serve those in need of rehab care.

The new Frazier Rehab Institute Northeast includes a large open gym with state-of-the-art equipment. The facility is located at the Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast at 2401 Terra Crossing Boulevard, just off Old Henry Road at I-265/Gene Snyder Freeway.

“We continue to build on our reputation of being accessible to those that need the rehab care we provide,” stated Randy Napier, vice president, Frazier Rehab Institute, Outpatient Rehab Facilities. “We continue to look at growth areas in Jefferson County and other counties as well.  We have more than 20 locations to provide expert rehab care.”

“Bringing Frazier Rehab to the Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast is especially unique in that the new Jewish facility also provides comprehensive outpatient cancer treatment services with the next generation in cancer care. Rehab therapy is a perfect fit for breast cancer survivors who suffer from lymphedema.”

Therapy is a key element in the treatment of lymphedema, a chronic, debilitating and often irreversible side effect of cancer treatment. Breast cancer-related lymphedema, which can cause significant swelling of the upper extremities due to the build-up of excess lymph fluid, is mostly caused by damage to the body's lymphatic system during treatment for cancer and can include limited movement, joint pain, and difficulty performing activities. Physical therapists, who are experts in restoring motion and mobility in people's lives, play an important role not only in treating the effects of lymphedema, but also in reducing the risk of recurrence.

Therapists are also available at a number of the Frazier Rehab locations who are experts in restoring motion and mobility to patients suffering from lymphedema. Northeast therapists are also skilled in the treatment of orthopedic and sports injuries, biomechanical foot and ankle dysfunctions with orthotic prescription, work-related injuries, neck and back pain, hand injuries, neurological disorders (including stroke rehab), and other post-operative diagnoses.
