Boy Scouts to hold Replacement and Retirement Ceremony at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Plaza One

November 5 at 7:15 p.m.


Who:  The Epworth United Methodist Church Boy Scout Troop #   262, under the direction of Scout Master Billy Newkirk; Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Team Members including SMEH security officers.

What: The Boy Scouts, under the direction of Scout Master Billy Newkirk, will ceremoniously retire the American flag at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.  A new American flag will officially be raised with honor and respect.

When:   Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 7:15 p.m.

Where:   Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital Plaza One
             4402 Churchman Ave.
             Louisville, KY 40215

Other: The Ceremonial event was organized to display the pride Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital takes in both our nation and the responsible youth in the south Louisville neighborhoods. Etiquette on the flying, handling and retirement of U.S. flags is a learning opportunity for the boy scouts. Scout Master Newkirk is an expert in the proper etiquette of the flag.
